Beachwood Transportation has been providing local and long-distance non-emergency medical transportation throughout Cuyahoga, Lake, and surrounding counties since 2016.

Founded by an experienced and dedicated business owner, Fay Alexander, inspiration for Beachwood Transportation came from the growing needs of area seniors and those with mobility issues.

Recognizing the shift to older adults throughout Cuyahoga County is going to outnumber young adults by 2030, it wasn’t difficult to determine the need for increased wheelchair transportation and supporting services for area seniors.

Since launching with a single vehicle many years ago, Beachwood Transportation has grown to a fleet of 28 vehicles serving and supporting local hospitals, emergency rooms, skilled nursing and rehabilitation facilities, retirement communities, and students requiring direct assistance getting to and from school.

Unlike other services operating as a curb-to-curb service, Beachwood Transportation is committed to safely escorting patients and residents from their residence or facility to a clean, comfortable, and modern wheelchair accessible vehicle. On arrival at their appointment, trained staff will escort clients to check-in.

In continuing to build strong relationships with area staff, residents, and families, Beachwood Transportation is keenly focused on providing exceptional and timely customer service with the compassion you and your loved ones deserve.

We are continuously striving to implement effective strategies for enhanced training, integrated technologies, and managerial support and communication. Because we provide local and long distance transportation, effective planning and communication between dispatch and key facilities is paramount.

We continuously work on enhancing our scheduling and traffic management in an effort to reduce travel and wait times while increasing efficiency. We work to adapt and implement policies and procedures to support our mission, to analyze and advise on transportation issues, evaluate scheduling conflicts, negotiate and correspond with carriers, vendors, and strategic partners.

Dispatchers will receive extensive instruction on using our technological integration systems designed to support our growing scheduling and logistical demands. Dispatchers are responsible for the following:

Customer intake
Preparation of daily schedules and trip manifests
Effective driver management and scheduling
Trip management and oversight
Coordination with facility personnel
